The handset covers both 2G and 3G networks through quad band GSM and dual band 3G HSDPA networks.The dimensions and weight of the handset are not only compact and light but perfect when it comes to holding in hands comfortably and carrying around. The 112mm by 56.2mm by 14.4mm handset is a real treat and weighs only 135 grams along with the fitted batteries.The display screen of the handset is TFT type which displays sixty five thousand colours and has a high screen resolution of 320 by 480 pixels. The capacitive touch screen of the phone is 3.2 inches wide and comes with multi touch and sense user interface. There is also an accelerometer sensor present in the phone for functions as auto rotate and availability of trackball feature is the high point of the handset.
The basic memory of the handset includes 288MB RAM, 512MB ROM and other than the two, there is memory card slot available in the handset which can extend the existing memory of the phone. The contact storage of the phone is unlimited.The phone is integrated with rechargeable type Li ion battery that offers eight hours of talk time over 2G GSM network and four hundred and forty hours of standby time.Talking about the hardware of the phone, there is an Android version 1.5 operating system in the handset and a 528 Mhz Qualcomm processor embedded in the phone.
The phone is rich in data features which include EDGE technology, GPRS and 3G HSDPA for high speed of connectivity to devices and internet respectively. There is also a USB port for connecting to devices along with Bluetooth facility. The user can enjoy WiFi WLAN connection to internet through a local hotspot as well.For entertainment on the handset, there is the presence of a five megapixel camera that has video capabilities and because of the presence of auto focus function enables the user to take better pictures.Although there is no radio in TMobile G2 Touch, but it has Java games.
